Admission
Students from outside CUHKSZ who wish to study at the University may apply to become exchange/visiting students. Upon admission, students can apply for a range of courses following our regulations on enrolment quota, course timetabling and scheduling, etc.
Exchange/visiting student shall pursue an approved course of study not leading to a certificate, degree, or diploma of the University, and receive an academic report on the course/s taken.
Exchange Students
If your institution has a formal bilateral student exchange agreement with us, you can study with us as an exchange student. You will be normally accepted according to the agreement, and pay tuition fees to your home institution.
Visiting Students
If your institution has a formal student visiting agreement with us, you can study with us as a visiting student. You will be normally accepted according to the agreement, and pay tuition fees to CUHKSZ.
CUHKSZ does NOT accept free movers* at this moment.
* You are a free mover if your university does not carry any formal agreement with CUHKSZ.
Admission Requirements
- Language Requirement
If you are from an institution where English is not the primary language of instruction, you should have a minimum TOEFL score of 530 (paper-based) / 71 (internet-based) or IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
- Academic Requirement
o You should currently enroll in a partner university recognized by CUHKSZ.
o If you are an undergraduate student, you should have completed at least two academic terms of university studies. If you are a postgraduate student, you should have a recognized bachelor's degree or equivalent and be currently enrolled in a postgraduate program at a partner university.
o All applications will be assessed by Office of Academic Links.
Admission Procedure
- Nomination
If you are interested in studying at CUHKSZ as an exchange/visiting student, you should be officially nominated by your home institution first. Please contact the relevant department/office at your home institution about the opportunity.
Nomination deadline
o Fall Term & Full Academic Year: 28th April
o Spring Term: 28th September
- Application
After receiving the nomination from your home institutions, the Office of Academic Links (OAL) will review all the nominees and send the instructions of online application to the qualified candidates. Before online proceeding please ensure you have these documents ready in PDF/JPG:
o 1*1.5 inches photo ( full face with a white background; no older than 6 months)
o Scanned copy of your passport bio page
o Latest official transcript (English version)

o Valid documentation for English language proficiency

- Visa Application
You will need the Admission Letter and the Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 Form) to apply for a visa. These two documents are processed within approximately six weeks upon your admission and will be sent to you digitally.
